Master of Arts (MA) in Organization Development specializing in Social & Solidarity Economy

 

Researchers, advocates and practitioners of development work are presently looking for new ways to advance sustainable development, especially in the light of the failure of Rio + 20 to reach a consensus on our planet’s conservation. The MA in Organization Development specializing in Social & Solidarity Economy offers a comprehensive program that allows students to position the concept and practice of SSE in their own work settings.


Objectives

  • Inculcate knowledge & skills in the management of change, particularly the transition from neoliberal economy to social & solidarity economy;
  • inculcate knowledge and skills in conceptualizing, measuring, and evaluating SSE system

MOD 1 The Discipline of Organization Development
MOD 2 Management of Change
MOD 3 Tools of Thinking and Learning
MOD 4 Conceptualizing, Measuring & Evaluating the SSE system

Designing Change Initiatives for SSE (What, why, how)

MOD 5 Enabling SSE through market relations and public policy
MOD 6 SSE networks in the politics of change
MOD 7 Gender equality in SSE advocacy and governance
MOD 8 SSE Exposure/Immersion

Generating Possible Rubrics or Indicators for Performances

Thesis (supervised by university mentors)


Target group

College undergrad students, young professionals who intend to seek job opportunities in NGOs, social enterprises, cooperatives, and development-oriented organizations, and also current staff & workers of these organizations.
